Top 5 G-Shock Watches

Famous worldwide, the Casio G-Shock brand provides great outdoor, tough, high-tech and stylish men’s watches, and has been doing so for more than 35 years; and from as little as $89 on Casio’s website, inexpensively too. They are worn by a variety of celebrities from pop stars to royalty. Their other brands Baby-G and G-Shock mini are also popular and worn by many celebrities including Lady Gaga, Ke$ha and Rihanna. As I have been looking into purchasing one of the many watches in their brand I thought I would share the knowledge I have acquired in my research. So I have selected the five best watches in the range and listed them here:

There are currently five different watches in this range. G-Shock boasts it can function properly in more than the 12Gs felt in an air race (presumably hence the title of the collection) and is resistant to drops, water, ice, hammers, pistons and vibrations. They all retail at between $260 and $360 but our research has shown us it is possible to find the same products for under $240 including postage. Our favorite watch is GW3500B-1A (different from its counterparts as it weighs less (82g instead of 146g) and the only digital and analogue watch in the range), which is able to keep track of the time in nearly fifty different cities around the globe and other features include: Solar Power, so one needn’t change the battery; water resistant to 200m; 1/100^th second stopwatch; LED light and much more. It is not bad looking either! In the UK it can be found cheapest on 247electrical.co.uk for £160 including postage (or £150 without on eBay) and as mentioned earlier for U.S. residents about $240.

This watch (GA110C-7A) stands out from the others in the Collection range. It is able to time accurately to within 1/1000^th second and indicate speed. It is magnetic resistant, has an LED, countdown timer, calendar, and is 4mm bigger than the usual watches. It is really great looking (in white) as does its counterpart in black (GA110C-1A); both retailing for $120. Research shows us that in the UK £60 for the black watch and in the US $100 is a realistic figure to pay. The white watch is also available in Limited Edition where all proceeds go to victims of the Japanese earthquake; costing $120 on Casio’s website.

This watch (G7900A-4) in eye-catching red has many features including low temperature resistance, tide and moon graphs and various other flashy features whilst weighing a mere two ounces. It is also available in black (G7900-1) and in white (G7900A-7) all retailing at $99. They can be found in some places for less than half this cost however.

This watch (DW6900FS-8) in grey is at the cheapest end of the G-Shock spectrum, but do not let the price deter you as it still has many features including 200m water resistance, various alarms and other gadgets. It is the watch Justin Bieber wears on multiple occasions. Despite, its high acclaim on the wrists of various pop stars it can be bought for just $78 on amazon.com and £82 on its British counterpart.

Ranging from $99 to $450 the Master of G Ranges comprises of nine different watches which are even hardier than the others!!! My favourite is the Tough Solar Yellow (GF8250-9) at $450 (trust me to pick the most expensive one!!!)  which can do more than any other watch in the brand including 31 time zones, moon data, 4 alarms and a 1/100^th second stopwatch whilst still being 200m water resistant and entirely shock resistant! It can be bought at skywatchdealers.com for £255 including postage or $328.90 at amazon.com although there was a second hand one for just $70 here too.
